Off to London!

Got up at 6:30 a.m. (not early enough), finished packing, tea and banana bread, made copies of passport and credit card at St. Mark. Yesterday terrorists bombed three tube stations and a bus in London. Around 40 people dead. We’re still going. Left with Bob and Carol for Cincy airport at 10:30. They stayed at Sharon & Mike’s last night. Sharon had us (John & Dana, me, KK & Kyle) over for a dinner of paninis, potato and caesar salads, and blueberry cake with frozen yogurt. Very yummy! Mike took Sharon to the airport. Met her and all ate lunch together–curried chicken salad sanwich and 3-cheese gill with tomato and onion (tres quesos). Very good. Took flight to Charlotte. Wanted to get pedicures because I bragged on mine in that airport. Turns out it was in Savannah!! Very disapoointed. 3 hour layover. Sat on plane after boarding for a while–something had to be checked out on an engine. Huge plane–8 seats across. Watched movie–PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Enjoyed it but voices not as good as original London cast. Ate tortellini, bread and butter, cheese wedge, carrots & dip, round cookies (supper), danish, o.j. and coffee (breakfast). Tried to sleep but couldn’t get comfortable. May have slept a little. Read my USA TODAY. No problems with immigration–nothing to declare. Took Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station. Half an hour ride. Much graffiti. Row houses. Depressed area.
