A recent \u201cemail conversation\u201d with one of America\u2019s most impressive exemplars of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laurawilder.com\/artisan.htm\">the Arts and Crafts style<\/a> yielded praise for my printmaking. That\u2019s more than enough to keep my enthusiasm intact, but I know I can do even better. When I look at my work I tend to see the flaws. That\u2019s constructive on the one hand, but I think it deters me from being more prolific. I would never want to lose the capacity for a self-critique, but there must be a reliable, practical way to surmount the hesitancy. Perhaps that\u2019s why Brendan enforces <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/anacrusis\/\">his week-day display of creativity<\/a>. Must we thus trick ourselves? Probably.
