There are very few things in life that I love more than the second half of April, and I just proved it to myself again. The intense green of the countryside and <em>kurdlezeet<\/em> of the red-wing blackbirds nourished my spirit. At the close of the eighteenth century, it was no accident that this part of Kentucky was chosen for the first settlements.
