The perch weren&#8217;t biting, so I did my<br \/>\ninitial half-mile channel swim. The water is unusually warm for the middle of<br \/>\nSeptember and I didn&#8217;t even need a wet suit. Our chums JD and Bob arrived in the<br \/>\nafternoon, so, after prepping the Sylvan, we mounted our first salmon operation<br \/>\nof the trip.
