He listened, assessed, and loaned me a copy of a tiny book with an odd title: <em>Who Moved My Cheese?<\/em> The message is simple, but not simplistic, and its thought-provoking theme makes me think more about the true nature of change in our lives. It takes me back to a time when radical change was the norm, and I considered it my friend. One of my greatest blessings is knowing my brothers have my back, and no one has it more than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/uj\/2008\/01\/22\/ace-among-men\/\">my first best friend<\/a>. I like what his daughter <a href=\"http:\/\/ritapeat.blogspot.com\/\">Rita<\/a> said about him not that long ago: \u201cThe thing I admire most in anyone is my dad\u2019s ability to weigh any situation and give the most level headed advice and explanations in an inspirational way\u2014whether we are talking running, work, school, life, family, friendships\u2014even love!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Today&#8217;s sight bite&#8212;<\/span> Pink-gold striations stacked on a slate-cold horizon <span style=\"font-style: italic\">&#8212;c-l-i-c-k&#8212;<\/span> with Abe\u2019s immortal address cast below as silver letterforms against a field of black.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Tomorrow&#8212;<\/span> Find the cadence and crank harder . . . <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March Exercise &#8212;day seven&#8212; During the worst of our deep sadness, as I stepped back from a chasm of self-pity, I reached out to my brother, James.
