Yeeagh.\">David Koepp<\/a> didn&#8217;t write it, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0149290\/\" title=\"&quot;aka Wonder Boys, Die (2000)&quot;\">Michael Chabon<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0316654\/fullcredits#writers\" title=\"Among others.\">did<\/a>!  Life is considerably better than it was five minutes ago, before I learned that.<\/p>\n<p>I loathe David Koepp, in case I haven&#8217;t made that sufficiently clear before.  He&#8217;s written screenplays that adapted three of the icons of my childhood&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0145487\/\" title=\"Val Kilmer.  VAL KILMER.\">The Shadow<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0117060\/\" title=\"I once filled three pages with notes on the awfulness of this movie.  I was 15.\">Mission:  Impossible<\/a>, and the aforementioned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0145487\/\" title=\"The best example of excellent direction marred by awful scripting I can think of.  Except maybe Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers, but that's his own fault.\">Spider-Man<\/a>&#8211;and all of them were pretentious, humorless, clich&eacute;-ridden claptrap.  I haven&#8217;t read Michael Chabon yet, but he won a Pulitzer for writing about comic-book creators; I strongly believe this is a better qualification than, say, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120832\/fullcredits#writers\" title=\"&quot;In an Atlantic City casino, an important boxing match is taking place.
