They were too slow to fly, lumbering toward toward their victims chirping 'braaaaaiins...'&quot;\">A Softer World<\/a>, which I originally found and enjoyed in the pages of the one comped issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nfg.ca\/\" title=\"Fuckers wouldn't run my 69er.\">NFG<\/a> that I got from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.panix.com\/~zackw\/exbib\/\" title=\"I don't know Zack's roommate's name.  I should probably figure it out.\">Zack&#8217;s<\/a> roommate when I was in California.  It was raining at the time.  Fortunately, I had a hat.<\/p>\n<p>But!  The comic!  Is really good.  I&#8217;m probably going to read the entire archive today, although I don&#8217;t know how much quantity exists, since the magazine comics I read (presumably written and drawn in January) did not list a website, and the new ones do.  Hopefully they&#8217;re all up there.  ASW seems designed to appeal directly to me&#8211;it&#8217;s a three-panel comic built with tightly-zoomed candid photography, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.english.uiuc.edu\/maps\/poets\/a_f\/cummings\/cummings.htm\" title=\"Look at those silly people, capitalizing his name.\">lower-case text in odd arrangements<\/a>, and the kind of dark gray whimsy that I&#8217;d love to consistently capture in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/anacrusis\/\" title=\"PLUG PLUG PLUG\">Anacrusis<\/a>.  I am very glad to be aware of its interweb existence.<\/p>\n<p><b>Update 1252<\/b> hrs:  They are all on the site, except the ones they sold to NFG&#8211;those were selected from a span of March to July 2003.  These strips are painfully good; worse, they <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asofterworld.com\/soft_feb7_2003.htm\" title=\"The cat is recurring.\">started out<\/a> that way.
