{"id":394,"date":"2005-06-01T13:32:52","date_gmt":"2005-06-01T18:32:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/2005\/06\/01\/394\/"},"modified":"2005-06-01T13:32:52","modified_gmt":"2005-06-01T18:32:52","slug":"394","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xorph.com\/nfd\/2005\/06\/01\/394\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m about a week late on this, but as somebody who&#8217;s been singing the &#8220;Clear Channel Sucks&#8221; song since 2001, I was fascinated to learn that they actually <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.stayfreemagazine.org\/2005\/05\/radio_free_clea.html\" title=\"&quot;It's official: even Clear Channel is sick of Clear Channel.&quot;\">created a fake &#8220;anti-corporate&#8221; station<\/a> in order to win back the listeners they lost by&#8230; being corporate.  If there is <i>any<\/i> more flagrant evidence of a harmful and necrotic monopoly extant, I&#8217;d love to see it.  What&#8217;s next?  Ticketmaster sponsoring fake scalpers?<\/p>\n<p>It occurs to me that they might already do that.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, there&#8217;s always <a href=\"http:\/\/indy.tv\/\" title=\"&quot;Indy isn't a tool for playing back music, it's a tool for discovering new music.&quot;\">Indy<\/a> if you want your own interweb radio station that learns what you like.  I can&#8217;t give it a glowing-eyes four-thumbs recommendation because, well, most of the music it plays is by people who wanted to get signed and couldn&#8217;t.  Not all, but most.
