Nothing like the usual electricity &#8216;n&#8217; frustricity extravaganza, which involves between eight and twelve trees, lots of long extension cords and lots of short tempers. I don&#8217;t miss the aggravation, even if I do miss the look of the place.<\/p>\n<p>But the lights are up, the oyster stew is downed, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/view.php?dater=20021224\">comic<\/a> is done and it&#8217;s only an hour and a half until midnight Mass. Christmas snuck up on me this year; I did all my shopping in two days, but that actually worked out pretty well. I&#8217;ve even conditioned myself well enough so that spending as much money as I did, even on other people, made me vaguely sick. Three cheers for my misguided conscience! If all goes well (and by &#8220;well&#8221; I mean &#8220;to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iub.edu\/\">grad school<\/a>&#8220;), this time next year I won&#8217;t have a penny to my name, so I guess I should enjoy it now.<\/p>\n<p>Audrey <i>made<\/i> me a quilt. Like a real quilt, and it&#8217;s incredibly warm and comfy.
