So!  Babies!<\/p>\n<p>Actually just one baby.  Talking about Zoe reminded me that I still have my Chicago pictures and I&#8217;ve been meaning to post them forever; I was saving them for a rainy no-idea day, but lately the only time I&#8217;m not posting is when I&#8217;m working on stuff I&#8217;m going to post.  So pictures!  (Which open in a separate window.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The one that inspired this whole post:  There was this baby, and his name was Big Man, and he was the sweetest little bowling ball-sized human I&#8217;ve ever met.  Naturally, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/BABY.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"BABY\">I tried to eat his brains<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li>In all my time as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crummy.com\/\">Crummy<\/a> fan, it never occurred to me what a great band name <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/cautious_mad_scientists.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"&quot;I WILL RULE PARTS OF THE WORLD!&quot;\">The Cautious Mad Scientists<\/a> would be.\n<\/li>\n<li>Did you know they make lawnmowers you have to plug in?  I didn&#8217;t, which is maybe why I find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/plugged_in.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"They should be singing a Twelve Dwarfs song.\">this team effort<\/a> so funny.\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/eric_frisbee.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"It looks like I'm handing off a banana.\">Me and Eric<\/a>, in the only extant picture of me playing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/nb\/category.cgi\/nfd\/Exertion\/Frisbee\">frisbee<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li>Briefly, during one of the big group shots on the beach, I got to make mine a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/metacamera.jpg\" title=\"That's EmilyR's mom.\" target=\"picwindow\">metacamera<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li>Something about me takes a deep joy in the vision of a sign that a) acknowledges the existence of and b) simultaneously tries to prevent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/no_peddlin'.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"OAKEYS I GOT OAKEYS\">peddlin&#8217;.<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>I was taking a perfectly nice close-range picture of my thumb until <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/thumb_and_kat.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"I don't even have autofocus.  I have nonfocus.\">Kat<\/a> got in the way.\n<\/li>\n<li>Witness my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/emilyr_1.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\">first<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/emilyr_2.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\">second<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/emilyr_3.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\">third<\/a> complete failures to get a picture of the shot-shy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/emilyr\/\" title=\"Sock Puppet Wedding\">EmilyR<\/a>.  Who then posed quite nicely for all the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/obligatory.jpg\" target=\"picwindow\" title=\"I'm the disembodied head in the back.\">obligatory group shots<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li>Oh, and lastly, having played basketball against stiff competition in inner-city Chicago, I believe I&#8217;m allowed to ask it:  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/creator\/chicago\/ballin'.jpg\" title=\"No I'm not.\" target=\"picwindow\">Who wants some?<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okay!
