It was good!  The Adkins-Wood Collective borrowed the infamous Deb&#8217;s house (she was out of town, and we&#8217;re homeless) for the fastest gift-opening we&#8217;ve ever had, then left in the afternoon to come to Louisville and have dinner with Joe&#8217;s sister Laura.  Who I guess is now my aunt?  She&#8217;d probably be weirded out if I called her that.  While there, I met her stepdaughter, who I guess is now my cousin?<\/p>\n<p>Normally I&#8217;d make some crack now about the new definition of family units in the new millennium, but to tell the truth, I feel kinda behind.  I just got my first step-cousin-in-law, man, everybody else has had theirs for years.<\/p>\n<p>But yeah, the dinner was good and Joe embarrassed Ian and me (but mostly me) at the pool table.  I got warm socks, emo hoodies, the first season of <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/find?q=highlander\" title=\"There was an animated series!  Holy lord, I almost completely forgot that!\">Highlander<\/a> and as many copies of <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/title\/tt0266543\/\" title=\"Apparently the tagline was &quot;Grab shell dude?&quot; I thought that was a TMNT thing.\">Finding Nemo<\/a> as I have hands.  Mom was at least a little taken in by our <a title=\"See, we got her a DVD player too, but we made her open the DVDs first.  We're clever.\">we-got-you-DVDs, what-you-don&#8217;t-have-a-DVD-player, oh-well-you-get-this-present-too<\/a> gag, and that was good.  In grand Brendanian tradition, I forced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/1891830430\/002-3340836-9973625?v=glance\" title=\"&quot;Blankets is selling out in comic shops and book stores, so really, truly, don't wait, buy it now.&quot;\">Blankets<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independentspank.com\/\" title=\"I almost forgot to renew this domain. What an irreverent oxymoron.  It's like saying 'Superman Weakling' or 'Flash Slowcoach.'&quot;\">Daredevil:  Yellow<\/a> on Caitlan, things with which they seemed cool.<\/p>\n<p>Man, have you <i>heard<\/i> about Blankets?  Just&#8230;  just <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=blankets+%22craig+thompson%22\" title=\"At nearly six hundred pages, BLANKETS is one of the most ambitious original graphic novels ever produced in the medium.\">google it<\/a> and read a little.
