It was eight o&#8217;clock and I had a gift certificate for Johnny Carino&#8217;s so we ate there. It was good! Then back to Deb&#8217;s to take care of her  dogs and sleep well before attacking 4th St. tomorrow. I found this poem and it seemed appropriate to my life right now. Reprinted with permission.<\/p>\n<p>\n Games with God<\/p>\n<p>\n I played, a child both wild and meek,<\/p>\n<p>\n with God at games of hide-and-seek.<\/p>\n<p>\n I searched in vain the usual places<\/p>\n<p>\n and found a thousand saddened faces.<\/p>\n<p><p>\n &#8220;Your God is hidden in heaven,&#8221; they said;<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;You&#8217;ll see him only when you&#8217;re dead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n How could I make them understand<\/p>\n<p>\n God often took me by the hand?<\/p>\n<p>\n Then as my tears began to fall<\/p>\n<p>\n I felt his touch and heard his call,<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;I never hid from you at all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><p>\n I played with God a game of tag,<\/p>\n<p>\n his mantle flying like a flag.<\/p>\n<p>\n I gave my God a good head start<\/p>\n<p>\n but caught him running in my heart.<\/p>\n<p>\n I played with God the game &#8220;I Spy,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n but lost him with my fading eye,<\/p>\n<p>\n till playmate God in his pure kindness,<\/p>\n<p>\n printed his image on my blindness.<\/p>\n<p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I met Alcie, Kyle, and KK after I got off work in the children&#8217;s department at Barnes and Noble.
