\n When I have seen by time’s fell hand defaced<\/p>\n
\n The rich proud cost of outworn buried age,<\/p>\n
\n When sometime lofty towers I see down razed,<\/p>\n
\n And brass eternal slave to mortal rage,<\/p>\n
\n When I have seen the hungry ocean gain<\/p>\n
\n Advantage on the kingdom of the shore,<\/p>\n
\n And the firm soil win of the watery main,<\/p>\n
\n Increasing store with loss, and loss with store,<\/p>\n
\n When I have seen such interchange of state,<\/p>\n
\n Or state itself confounded to decay,<\/p>\n
\n Ruin hath taught me thus to ruminate,<\/p>\n
\n That time will come and take my love away.<\/p>\n
\n This thought is as a death, which cannot choose<\/p>\n
But weep to have that which it fears to lose.<\/p>\n
\n
\n Being able to spend time with my children this holiday is that love which causes me to weep and which I fear to lose.<\/p>\n
