{"id":2513,"date":"2013-09-27T22:30:19","date_gmt":"2013-09-28T02:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.xorph.com\/jadixon\/?p=2513"},"modified":"2015-11-18T13:35:22","modified_gmt":"2015-11-18T17:35:22","slug":"theme-and-variation-in-collage-part-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xorph.com\/jadixon\/archives\/2513","title":{"rendered":"Theme and Variation in Collage, part 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\u201cTo me I think artists in general make a statement \u2014 and for the rest of their lives \u2014 every album, every book \u2014 are variations on a theme.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2014 Mark Mothersbaugh <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here are two examples of my ongoing participation in groups that collaborate through thematic emphasis. <em>Gentle Zephy<\/em>r is a response to the theme of \u201cmusic\u201d at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Art.of.Collage\" target=\"_blank\">Collage<\/a> facebook page, but I also made obvious reference to the previous album, \u201catomic bombs.\u201d <em>Tir de Duc<\/em> is my second submission to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/161991817319872\/\" target=\"_blank\">Target Practice<\/a> project initiated by <a href=\"http:\/\/lauratringaliholmes.blogspot.com\/2013\/08\/the-art-of-target-practice.html\" title=\"The Art of Target Practice\" target=\"_blank\">L T Holmes<\/a>. The exciting collaboration that makes use of vintage paper targets has taken on a new significance in recent weeks. Collage artists could spend all their available time interacting with each other through the many active collaborative formats.
