tinyhut is web-based software for creating and customizing a lightweight, useful homepage that you can use from anywhere.

tinyhut is web-based software; you'll need a web host running PHP 5+ to install it. You may also need to know a little about navigating within your hosted space via the command prompt. (Working on that part.)

Once set up, it provides you with two things: the aforementioned static homepage, and an interactive version that lets you add new items, edit or remove old ones, and drag them around to reorganize them--all within your web browser. You can even copy search forms from useful websites to avoid loading bloated front pages, or to save advanced settings and always get the results you want. And you can do all this with a page that loads startlingly fast, even on a slow connection.

tinyhut is available as a zip file or a tar.gz file. If you'd like to see how it works, try out the demo version (username/password: demo/demo); if you'd like to keep up with development, you can poke around the subversion repository.

tinyhut was created by Brendan Adkins, who liked being able to get to his bookmarks from anywhere in the world but didn't like manually editing the same HTML file every time those bookmarks changed. This is his solution, and he hopes you'll find it as useful as he does. tinyhut is released under an MIT-style license, so it will always be free to download, install and tinker with.
