Let’s face it: Crummy sometimes obfuscates its humor with excess intelligence. Take today’s entry
on the Chinese character for “concave.” In it, Leonard utilizes at least two distinct languages. It’s common knowledge that no human mind* can process more than one language in a lifetime–and some don’t even get that far!
To help clarify its meaning, then, I’ve utilized the miracle technology of Altavista’s Babel Fish to translate each piece of dialogue into its reverse language (Chinese to English, and so forth). Simply print both entries and overlay them on a strong source of light, and let’s see what we get!
Leonard: Concave! Concave!
Chinese Person #1: 如果公共汽车去在五十英哩之下每小时我们去世 !
Chinese Person #2: Baka WAI!!!1!
Chinese Person #1: 重覆黑人人?
Chinese Person #2: ^_^;;;;;;;;;
Leonard: Is the American embassy in where?
* No, Leonard is not a human. Leonard is a homicidal laser-bot from the future.
