Today I had my teeth cleaned, moaned about it, helped Mom make the decision to stick with Sprint (Layla! Darling!), purchased my Post-College Wardrobe, watched my sister graduate, saw Karie for the first time in a year, and then talked to Maria until four in the morning. It has been a full day!
My Frosher Blogger Initiative yields results: Julia and Kate are writing! Joy! Now if they keep doing it for six months, I will buy them all milk and cookies. (My theory is, if you keep a journal going for six months, it counts as permanent.)
Tomorrow (er, today) morning I leave for the preview trip to Louisville, to learn things like where my apartment is, and where my job is, and where the magical buses are to take me betwixt them. I also get to meet Ian’s cat, and probably sneeze on her, and meet my schoolyear roommate for the first time in four years, and hopefully not sneeze on her. Although I have given due notice about my biting.
The one thing that both saddens and heartens me about leaving Richmond is that it’ll probably be quite some time before I get to read our local paper again. They’re a horrible blot on the face of journalism, and I have a longstanding feud with about everything they do, but really, layout moments like this one (found in a box of old clippings today) are priceless.
