Ash Wednesday
So today I went to Mass at St. John, though I was late because I had to work until 12 and the only Mass they had on the website was at 12, but that’s okay. I got there as the Gospel was being read. Last time I went to Mass there, there were three G-town football players sitting behind me, and I know I shouldn’t stereotype but it surprised me that they were there. Today, they were sitting in the same row as me, or at least I thought it was them again. But as I was leaving, I was walking behind them to walk back to campus. The church is like 1 block away, if that. Anyway, I saw them get into a car, so I thought they must be from the high school or something. But no, I saw them drive into a G-town parking lot, and the 2nd closest one to the church at that. I drive a lot of places, but that was ridiculous.
Speaking of driving and walking, because it was so pretty out today, Melissa and I walked to this bank on Main St. where you can get G-town checks cashed. Her bank is in Lexington, and I found out where this bank was when one of my profs was explaining where something else was, so we decided to go cuz she’s had the check for almost 60 days and it is not valid after 60 days we found out today. Then we got smoothies and sat outside and drank them. It was fun and I wish every day was like that. Amzingly, I haven’t had much homework this week. Which means I should be doing other stuff, but I haven’t. I worked on my thesis quite a bit, but none of the hard stuff, just the fun stuff.
And now I’m writing this. I was planning on writing about some drama going on with our little group, but now I don’t feel like it, and probably nobody wants to hear about it. However, I did tell my mom about it and she said it was like when her and her friends used to steal each other’s bras, get them wet, and put them in the freezer. Which brought up a funny memory about how my cousins and I are terrible at pranks. One night we were all staying over at my cousin Rachel’s house, and we took Holly’s bra and put it the freezer. Only problem was, we didn’t get it wet, so it didn’t do much, just got it really cold for a while. Fun times.
By the way, I think for my promise for Lent, I’m going to try to start exercising and praying every night, like I used to. Hopefully it will work.
